After making a text file selection from the Import File dialog box, HTML.edit imports the file into the current document window. If there is currently text in the window, you are given a chance to import to a new window. The shortcut for this command is Command-O.
Note that holding down the Option key on selecting the Import command will allow selection of non-text files (with unpredictable results).

Drag and Drop Importing
Note that if the HTML.edit application is already running, you can drag TEXT files onto the HTML.edit icon and they will be imported into the editor. This will not work correctly if HTML.edit is not already running. There is no practical limit on the number of documents you can import using this method.
If the Always Parse HTML on Import checkbox (on the Preferences card) is checked, the imported text file will be scanned for HTML structure codes. If a <HEAD> section is found, it will be moved to the Header text area. The <HTML></HTML> tag pair will be moved to the beginning of the Header text area and the end of the Footer text area, respectively. If a <!--FOOT > comment is found, all text after it will be transferred to the document footer area.
